Why I Started Blogging

I have to start by saying “What a journey! Absolutely Amazing!”. And it’s only starting.

It’s been exactly three weeks since I started this blog and let me tell you something: “It’s Addictive”. I mean, I would do blog activities all day long until late at night. Sometimes, when I’m with my family, I would look at the phone just to see what happens in the blogosphere.

Since I was a little girl I loved writing. I wrote poems, mostly about love, little imaginative stories and I dreamed of becoming a famous writer. Of course, things didn’t happen as planned. Instead, I studied economics and got a job in a bank. Things can get complicated sometimes.

Since the beginning of the year, I’ve become, once again, more attracted in writing and blogging. I’ve started to read more books and explored this blogging thing. Everything was so appealing, and it still is. I’ve taken a freelance writing class and I’ve studied almost everything about blogging.

I was (and still am) passionate and excited about starting my blogging adventures, so I set up a free WordPress site and after two weeks I realized that I needed my own self-hosted domain.

So, let me tell you, my friends, why I started Blondie Mommy’s Stories blog.

My Passion to WriteLove letter 09

To become a better writer you have to practice writing as often as you can, so I thought “Why not start a blog and practice my passion here?” And better yet, share my passion with the world. (Besides article writing, I also love handwriting, as I’ve practiced a little bit of calligraphy).

To be Myself

Here, on Blondie Mommy’s Stories, I can be myself. Sometimes I can be blank, or critical about something, and sometimes I can be creative, but I will always be ME. I will always put my heart and soul in my writing and I will always write stories that are related to me and to my life.

Helping other Moms

I realize now how helpful it is to find little tips and tricks on motherhood challenges. If I would only have known some of them when I became a mother, maybe I would’ve done things differently.

I changed and learned while I ventured in this journey called parenting.

Sharing what I’ve learned with other moms and helping them in their adventures would be one of my biggest satisfactions.

Meeting New People

It’s only been three weeks since I began this blog and I realize that connecting with other bloggers is very important. You can learn from the ones that have experience in blogging, ask for help and tips.

I was happy to find that most of the fellow bloggers are so nice and helpful and a true inspiration also.

Making Money

I’m not afraid to say that I intend on making a career from freelance writing and this blog is my first step on achieving this goal.

After quitting my day job, I can finally pursue a career in something I am passionate about.

Even so English is not my first language and I know that I’ll make mistakes along the way, I love what I do an I love doing it. What better reason than this?

What about you? Why did you start your blog (if you have one)?

  1. I started blogging a few months ago as my escape. I also wanted to help new mums and meet new people as a SAHM I barely get any me time and blogging has been that for me. it is something I really enjoy! thanks for sharing the reasons you started blogging #TheList

  2. Welcome to the world of blogging! It’s hard work but so much fun! xx

  3. I love blogging and keeps me sane in motherhood. It gives me focus and meaning It also provides a creative outlet and somewhere where I can voice my opinions as I am not the best verbal communicatior X #thelist

    1. It really is easier to put your thoughts on paper than to express them verbally.

  4. So interesting to read your perspective. I am a big lover of blogs and the entire blogosphere, and I love when people finally start their own blogs. I think it’s one (if not the) best decision I’ve ever made in my life. It’s given me so much joy to see people enjoy my writing, and JUST READ what I’m writing. You know back in the day in college and such, your professors were forced to read your writing and grade it but now that people willingly want to read my thoughts is so mind-boggling and so much fun! I love blogging and I love reading others’ blogs! xx Adaleta Avdic

    1. I agree. It’s fascinating to know that other people actually read my blog.

  5. I started to give myself a focus. Being a SAHM is great, but I’m used to the targets and deadlines of a full time job. Blogging satisfies that need! #fartglitter

    1. What a true thing you said 🙂

  6. Hi Oana, welcome to the world of blogging, it’s a great community to be a part of and it just gets more addictive as time goes on! You will be sure to meet some fab bloggers and if what you’ve learned along the way can help others in some way, that is fab too.

You’ll never go wrong if you follow what’s in your heart!… I have the utmost respect for anyone blogging in their second language, I battle in my first sometimes.

    1. Tanks for the kind words 🙂

  7. I started as a way to document what we are doing to make things more accessible for my son and as a way to get information about what is needed to a much wider community. A wheelchair logo on the door does not make a toilet accessible, but why would most people know that? Hopefully, more and more people are learning and will help make life better for all. #DreamTeam

  8. I’m a SAHM and I started writing to express my thoughts, to learn a new skill and continue with my writing. I write about adoption to share my experiences and because I live in Paris that adds a little twist to the blog. And yes it’s addictive! Have fun with the blogging! #DreamTeam

  9. I got into blogging because I had to move and start my life over and found myself really lost. My husband told me I needed a hobby and boom! I started it and then sat on it only writing about once a month for the first 6 months but then last year it really took over my life and quite frankly has really saved my sanity. I too like to write about honest stuff and use a lot of sarcasm as well. I am visiting from #fartglitter.

  10. Welcome to the blogging world! I’m impressed you’ve already figured out linkies. Took me much longer. I started for much the same reasons. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
